Skytrain islands

Homeless people sleep on the "islands" that support Skytrain pillars in the center of Nara Thiwat Ratcha Nakharin Road. This photo is taken from the Skytrain.

Trash-collecting machine

This contraption spans the klong that runs between Sathorn Road. Three "lifters" on conveyor belts extract trash from the water and dump it into a chute that runs into the yellow dumpster on the right. You can see the end spur of the Skytrain tracks (the lighter-colored concrete bridging in the middle). Beyond the last span is the Choa Phraya River.
