I have very little respect for this paper. Most Bangkokians also. The sole reason they are able to sell their papers is not for the quality of news or reporting but because of their tabloid like marketing and presentation. Their front page stories have nothing to do with news, economics or politics but mostly entertainment, scandals or accidents.
I can't blame the Thai people for not reading the news though. Because most news and politics in Thailand is very bland like yellow vs. red, corruption, etc. |

But there was also speculation (at Thaivisa.com for example) that Thai Rath faked the photo (or that it was indeed a picture of a dead body, but not Carradine's), because many things didn't add up - the man had black (maybe even slightly curly) hair, he was wearing shorts or at least underpants [the head and lower body had been obscured], and the interior of the room didn't look like a 5 star hotel at all. There was also a towel with (possibly) a blood trail on the bed.
Which would still be tasteless, of course.
