Bangkok Governors List

With the BMA election looming, I wondered if there is a historical list of Bangkok governors, and also since when the holder of this office has been elected instead of appointed.

The article on Samak in the English Wikipedia shows that he was succeeded by Aphirak and preceded by Phichit Rattakul, but there it ends, because the latter doesn't even have his own article yet.

The Thai article, however, yields the following under ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร (Governor of Bangkok) at the bottom of the page:

Note: Bangkok Metropolis (Krungthep Mahanakhon) was formed in 1972 through the merger of the Phra Nakhon & Thonburi provinces, so the history of BMA governors doesn't go further back than this. I imagine there was only an ordinary appointed governor for Phra Nakhon (like for any other province) in the years before.

จากพระราชบัญญัติระเบียบบริหารราชการกรุงเทพมหา นคร พ.ศ. 2518 ทำให้การเลือกตั้งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานครขึ้นเป็น ครั้งแรก เมื่อวันที่ 10 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2518 ในครั้งนั้น นายธรรมนูญ เทียนเงิน จากพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ ได้รับการเลือกตั้งเป็น ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร จากการเลือกตั้งคนแรก ด้วยคะแนนเสียง 99,247 คะแนน โดยมีผู้มาใช้สิทธิเลือกตั้ง เพียงร้อยละ 13.86

...which says that on 10 August 1975, the first Bangkok gubernatorial election was held and Thammanun Thianngoen of the Democrat Party was elected with 99,247 votes, with a voter turnout of just 13.86 %.

ในการเลือกตั้งครั้งนั้น นายธรรมนูญ ไม่ได้ดำรงตำแหน่งผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร จนครบวาระ 4 ปี เนื่องจากเกิดความขัดแย้งอย่างรุนแรงทั้งในฝ่ายบริหา รและฝ่ายนิติบัญญัติ จนไม่สามารถปฏิบัติงานได้ ทำให้ นายธานินทร์ กรัยวิเชียร นายกรัฐมนตรีในขณะนั้น ตัดสินใจใช้อำนาจตามมาตรา 21 ของรัฐธรรมนูญ แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย พ.ศ. 2519 ปลดนายธรรมนูญออกจากตำแหน่ง เมื่อวันที่ 29 เมษายน 2520 และให้กลับไปใช้รูปแบบการแต่งตั้งเช่นเดิม

However, due to conflicts in the city administration Mr. Thammanun was relieved of his office by PM Thanin Kraivixien on 29 March 1977, making use of article 21 of the constitution.

Then there was a hiatus (with governors being appointed once more) and the next election wasn't held until 14 May 1985, won by Chamlong (the only one so far to be re-elected to the post, in 1990).
