map.search.ch

This is the coolest web app I've seen in a long time:

http://map.search.ch

Satellite data of all of Switzerland with road data superimposed, coupled with an excellent interface -- it took me less than a minute to dig up the place where I lived over 10 years ago, without using the search box. The map even shows the community swimming pool and the nearby farm sheds full of stinky fertilizer. I can almost hear the cowbells ringing...

Thumbs up

Really cool!

Very easy to use, basically you don't need any instructions! Just left-click, right-click or click and drag.

Also nice: Gornergrat Railway (rack-and-pinion) in the vicinity of the Matterhorn (follow the tracks to the southeast). Unfortunately, when I was there with my father a couple of years ago, it was all shrouded in fog..........

Yes, yes, the Swiss.... also famous for their cartography, among other stuff.
