Yeah, they have tried BRT at lad Phrao before and FAILED and hten they tout (tell a BIG LIE) to the public that BRT at Lad Phrao is a sucess! Shame on OTP that they keep telling a LIE to the public!

No wonder, OTP have spent lots of time to delete the posts whcih tell the truth they HATE to tell the public at large.

Lad Phrao people said they DEMAND nothing LESS than the new Line of SKytrain to Reach Minburi via Lad Phrao Road ... not just reachign NIDA. MWA better ready to to install the new main water pipes before removing the water pipes alogn Lad Phrao and Phaholyothin Road to enablke the contractor to handle this job ... without priblems.

Wink Bangkok Subway is the same as Singapore's North-East MRT Line

Hi, Bangkok,

Bangkok subway is the same as Singapore's North-East MRT Line. In both systems, the announcer will always say "Please mind the gap". The systems of Bangkok MRT and the North-East MRT Line of Singapore are the same. The signs to the different places outside the North-East MRT station are the same as Bangkok MRT ones.

SINGAPORE

Nope -- Bangkok MRT was built by Siemens (Germany), while Singapore NEL was built by Alstom (France). The "Mind the gap" thing is just a copy from London's famous announcement, although it's interesting that in Singapore only NEL announces this... then again, only NEL has platform doors, and other lines warn around the (much greater) danger of being too close when the train approachers.

The fare gates, however, are the same in both systems, except that Singapore doesn't use the token system. Is the vendor Alstom? The TVMs seem to be different again, Singapore uses the 'standard' ones from the SMRT lines while the Bangkok MRT has its own (IMHO rather clumsy and ugly) interface.

Losing money

The NEL is losing money. The MRT trains on this line make the same cruising noise as Bangkok MRT. The seats of Bangkok MRT are the same as Singapore MRT. When you travel along the NEL, you will think you are travelling in the Bangkok MRT. There is a suburban town in Singapore known as "Buangkok". I call it Little Bangkok because its MRT station is not ready, problematic like Bangkok MRT.

erm, ganyc, buangkok station is ready and completed. it was scheduled to be opened with the rest of the line when the LTA was testing the line for commissioning. however, the operator, SBS Transit decided not to open it as the catchment area was not so developed as it is now. buangkok station may possibly open in the year 2005. yes, alstom is the contractor for the NEL rolling stock while siemens is for the bangkok one. i thought it would be understandable for ALL new lines to lose money during the early years as the cost of running the line would be high and passenger revenue not sufficient until passengers got used to the line. in the case of the already a year old NEL, it will be profitable by the year 2006 or so say analysts.

now where do you get that idea from? i think its silly saying bishan and novena MRT stations are haunted too.... all because they used to be cemetaries or what not. so you're going to say cirle line will be haunted because they never found the body of mr heng? i find this all rather silly. maybe its because singaporeans have a preoccupation with ghosts....

Talking

Well, all BKK Subway stations have Mandala signs written in white & wet chalk by Buddhist monks though ....

Even when the TBM drilling machines from Japan which have already passed SHinto ceremony will have Buddhist monk chanting to exocize those evils spirits out .....before uising
to dig tunnels though ....

It seems to me that Siemens have fixed the problems ... by recallign 2 problematic sets from 19 sets out to get major reparation on brake while the other 17 set will be comissioned..

Wait and see how MRTA is oign to implement the Purple line which was initially the northern extension of Blue lien before converting the blue line into Blue Ring.

As the cartoon says "If ghosts do not exist - why do we have a word for them?"
