The Miss Universe Pageant Preview yet again confirmed how crass most politicians are (or become). It was bad enough having to listen to Taksin turning it into a piece of blatant advertising; in addition to the fact that he probably used the whole exercise to try and stop folk thinking about the 'Scanner Scandal'.
Even worse was the spectacle of his honoured guest, PM of Cambodia Hun Sen; a man renown for selecting his additional crumpet from beauty pageants. You can almost gauge the cabinet thinking on this issue: if we allow him to do a bit of privileged perving & soliciting, perhaps he'll be a bit softer on us over this border issue; and maybe even keep up his reparations for all that damage to Thai business in the Phnom Penh riots.
