someone told me that it is the Kings forest? but i have never heard or read about it. What is it? can you go there? and is it anything more than just a forest?

maybe i shold add that im looking south.

That's Unmistakenly Bang Krajao Park which has the official name as
"Suan Sri Nakhon Khueankhan" (Sri Nakhon Khueankhan Park) :D

This park is in Bang Krajao area of Pra padaeng opposite to Klong Toei
and Rama 3 area :) Opened 6 Am to 8 PM since 1992 for 60-year annivasary of Queen Sirikit. This park is essentially the fruit orchards
combined with a public park whcih form into a giant park with total area
of 200 Rai (80 acre).

I recollect Vertigo is in one of Bangkok's taller building on Sathorn. Is it that one with the pretentious dome? I'd be interested in knowing the location. And is beyond the means of the average up-country farang? Fantastic view! One of the amazing things about BKK is how often you find someone's market garden next to a highrise.

....this thread is the perfect occasion to post some photos I took last December:

1 (http://tinypic.com/52avcj) - captures the atmosphere on top quite well.
2 (http://tinypic.com/52et79 ) - looking west along Sathorn, with Empire Tower, Jewelry Trade Center and State Tower.
3 (http://tinypic.com/52etsw ) - towards Rama 9 Bridge/Kasikornbank Bldg.
4 (http://tinypic.com/52ettx ) - East: Khlong Toei Port and river. The dark area to the right is the Bang Krajao Forest.
5 (http://tinypic.com/52etud ) - Pratunam and All Seasons Place on the right; the illuminated pole creates an interesting effect.
6 (http://tinypic.com/52ety8 ) - warning lights....
7 (http://tinypic.com/52etzd ) - ditto, but with Suan Lum Night Bazar visible in the lower right corner.
8 (http://tinypic.com/52eu0i ) - Dusit Thani, Abdulrahim Place, Suan Lum, U-Chuliang Foundation Bldg, Christmas decoration on the Amari Watergate, brightly lit Central World Plaza construction site and Baiyoke II.
9 (http://tinypic.com/52eu1i ) - closeup.

The view from State Tower is (even) more spectacular, but you'll agree that Thai Wah II is nice as well!
