Today is King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day, Oct 23rd.
Just came across this article on Time Asia, Asians of the century (http://www.time.com/time/asia/asia/magazine/1999/990823/cover1.html). It's an article, published in 1999, about the most influential Asians of the century. King Chulalongkorn the Great was on the list. The former prime minister, Anand Panyarachun, also writes an article (http://www.time.com/time/asia/asia/magazine/1999/990823/rama1.html) honoring the king in the same issue of Time Asia.
