I recently visited the naval restaurant in Samut Prakan and viewed the old HTMS Chakri Naruebet. No one there could tell me what the initials stood for-I assume they are for His Thai Majesty's Ship. Is that correct?

You are correct on HTMS.

I am confused as to the ship. If you were at Phra Chulachomklao Fortress then it is the HTMS Mae Klong.

We were at Pom Pra chuen, in the naval station Samut Prakarn. Huge place, near Prasamut Chedi. There is a popular navy run restaurant, but you have to go through naval check point.

Dear The Enforcer, yes, looks like the place. I do have the cap with HTMS Chakri Nabuet on it. We went down Suksawat Rd then right.

Great place isn't it?

It is one of Bangkok's many hidden attractions - sent my business partner there (a 15 year Bangkok veteran) with his kids and they loved and all swore they had never heard of it before!
