The public transit of Perth is the first southernhemisphere city to have Hydrogen Fuel Cell Busses.

Maybe Bangkok should look to utilizing these. Obviously cost is a huge issue, but I am sure some alliance could be had to help Bangkok become clean again.

.... Because of the hugh costs, that's way BMTA needs to wait. I am afraid of their notorious management. And I hope to see a slow transition to new technology.

Step by step, it may take a decade or so to do it.

I do not like the way Thai officials purchase some new "Hi tech STUFF" as long as it is taxpayers' money!!

Clean technology will come for sure.

They are vastly more expensive to buy than a normal bus, but I'm sure that cost will come down.

There are very few operating in london, and I just walked past one today being recovered by a tow truck. From what I could see it had its hydrogen tanks removed - presumably for safety - but I did not see them do it.

When they work they emit a lovely trail of steam!

I went on a ride on the Hydrogen Fuel cell bus today in Central Perth. I was quite impress with this technology. The bus runs very smoothly and quitely and steams come out of it like the old locomotices.
At the moment 10 cities around the world are trialing these H cell bus, Perth is one of them. Some info about H Cell bus trial in Perth here: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/fuelcells/technology.html

BTW those buses uses the proton exchange membrane technology developed by Ballard Power Systems, a Canadian company.
