A reader asks: I was fascinated to see your photo of the old Magic Land in Thailand. I am traveling to Bangkok next week and will b viositing dreamwold. As a roller coaster enthusiast I would be very interested to know if you have any tips or pics of any theme parks in Thailand.

There are two places I'd recommend:

DreamWorld - perhaps the most popular theme park in Bangkok. More info and map here:

Suan Siam (Siam Park), one of my favourites. There's a couple of roller coasters, however most of the activities based around the waterpark, whirlpools, waterslides etc. Here's some photos I found on the net (copy the URL and paste in browser)

Location: east of Bangkok - 101 Sukhapibarn 2 Rd, Bangkapi.
Getting there: Taxi (ask for Suan Siam) - about 45 min drive from Lad Prao flyover.. depending on traffic conditions.
By bus - take bus no.26/27 from the Victory Monument (about 1 hour)

Admission price: 400B adults, 300B children (including rides).
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00 - 18:00.
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 09:00 - 1900.

I work opposite magic land. There's now a sign up about motor-racing opening 2005. I can just about see the beginnings of what looks like a go-cart track if I look from my office.

It'll be sad when they finally take down the castle though.
