Yangon bus committee publishes mag

YANGON’s two million bus passengers are to get their own monthly magazine. Yangon Buses, published by the division’s Buses Control Committee, will be on the shelves of city bookstores for K600 starting from September 1.
The chairman of the committee, U Tin Htut, said the magazine will not only contain information on transportation in Yangon, but also segments on culture, health, social, world news and local events.
“If we write about the issues that passengers, bus staff, owners and inspectors face daily and explore ways of understanding one another, I believe the problems and difficulties we are trying to tackle at the moment may decline,” said U Tin Htut in a speech at the launch ceremony on August 1.
Under the Yangon Division Buses Control Committee, 2345 passenger buses of 131 lines are running daily carrying about 2 million people, comprising 65 percent of the whole transportation business.
