BANGKOK, Feb 27 (TNA) - Deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra confirmed on Wednesday his return to Thailand on Thursday morning from self-imposed exile overseas to fight his corruption charges, but that he would stay out of politics.

Mr. Thaksin was removed in a bloodless military coup in September 2006 while he was abroad and has mostly lived in London since then.

He reiterated in an interview from Hong Kong on Wednesday night his intention was purely to fight corruption charges and he did not want to re-enter politics.

"I will go back home tomorrow to defend myself in a case in which I was unfairly accused....I will not get involved in politics or the People Power Party," he said, referring to the ruling party comprised of his loyalists which won December elections by campaigning as the proxy for Thaksin's former ruling party.

The ousted premier and his wife are charged with corruption in relation to the purchase of a Bt772 million (US$26 million) plot of land in Bangkok's Rachadapisek area in 2003, while he served as prime minister.

The former premier is accused of illegally influencing the deal and helping his wife purchase the government-owned parcel of land at a bargain price while he was in office.

Mr. Thaksin and his wife, who returned to Thailand last month and was released on bail pending trial, have both repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Transport Minister Santi Prompat who oversees the management of the Airports Authority of Thailand or AoT and Thai Airways International said the two organizations were prepared to prepare for Mr. Thaksin’s arrival.

Mr. Santi himself would go to welcome Mr. Thaksin at the gateside.

The former prime minister said he would board Thai Flight TG 603 from Hong Kong and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 9.40 am local time.

The AoT closed Zone G including the parking structure on since Wednesday and stepped up security with over 500 police were being deployed to provide extra security for his return. (TNA)

Thaksin has already left the conference after less than ten minutes.

Thaksin vows to steer clear of politics and defend his name

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Thursday vowed to stay out of politics and apologised to the people for their hardship caused by his involvement in the political conflict.

"I and my family have suffered from injustice but this can not be compared to the hardship befallen the people who are the worst victims of political rivalry," he said.

Thaksin said it was normal for politicians to having ties with him as this was part of Thai culture but should not be construed as his political comeback.

He said he wanted to return to his homeland since September 20, a day after the power seizure but he was asked by coup leaders to stay in exile for a while. This happened to last almost 18 months, he said.

Following the restoration of democratic rule, he said he was obliged to come back to defend his tarnished reputation and that of his family.

He said he was saddened by injustice, vowing to rebut his graft charges and prove his innocence.

Surapong seeks Thaksin's blessing to lift capital control

Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee on Thursday said he would hold a meeting with former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in order to seek advice on the economy, including the planned lifting of the 30 per cent capital control.

The meeting will take place at a time and place deemed convenient by Thaksin, he said.

"As Thaksin has met with businessmen from around the world, he is seen as one of the most experienced hands about the economy and I want to seek his advice," he said.

Several times over the past 15 months Thaksin has vowed that he has no future in politics. It is hard to take his undertakings seriously. As my colleague at the ANU, Peter Jackson, wrote a few years ago, Thai public life operates according to a “regime of images” whereby there is no necessary correspondence between public stances and private manoeuvres. What counts in public is that the right thing is said at the right time. As usual, Thaksin is working the public imagery cleverly. He can afford to bide his time and present himself as a loyal servant returning to his beloved homeland. Of course, when the time comes for Thaksin to take on a more formal political role there will be those that protest about his dishonesty given his previous promises of retirement. But their charges will have little traction in the court of public opinion. That’s how the “regime of images” works.

Thaksin's hushed talks before bed time

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra saw three visitors before retiring to bed to have a peaceful sleep inside the luxury hotel suite on his first night at homeland, a source in his security team said on Friday.

Thaksin's brotherinlaw Police Lt General Preowpan Damapong, Transport Minister Santi Prompat and banned party executive Pongsak Ruktapongpisal went in to see him before bed time.

Before his return, rumours spreaded that Thaksin and Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej were drifting apart in regard to the construction of the nine train routes for Bangkok commuters, one of the key megaprojects championed by Thaksin before he was ousted from power.

Pongsak was the key architect of the mass transit system under the Thaksin's leadership.

Thaksin's first order of business at 9.30 am today was the 20 minute visit to pay his respect to the Supreme Patriarch who is staying at the Chulalongkorn Hospital for medical care.

Even though the Air Hostess War is ended ... but the author of this drama was ARRESTED due to incidents of Photographs of the real actors and actresses referred by the Author (Air Kee) ...

Furthermore, 2 Stewards (Mr. Keng [AKA Mr Nui] -> friend of actress -> and Mr. Kwang [AKA Mr. Moh] -> a boyfriedn of Mr. Nui) in that drama have been pointed out that they have homo relationship ... just like Ee Jakkaraphob Phenkae weho run PR Dept and Ee Sitha Thiwaree ... who keep dancing nonstop after listening "I will survive" song (a favorite song for thsoe Homo in closet)

Therfore it would be better for Ee Jakkaraphob Phenkae and Ee Sitha Thiwaree to sue Ms. Air Kee due to the fact that she has leaked the secrets in their closets.

Now, Big Bung has to keep himself low profile since there are fewer men who still respect to him. PDA said they HATE Big Bung ... while Watthana Assawahem and Mr. Prachai Liawphairat (“Baby & Johnson” ) want to spit the face of Big Bung.

Now, PDA men and alliances were frightenign since they are threatened ... for the revenge.... to the astologers in Chiang Mai ... to seize the assets of PDA men and Big Bung in the same way the asset committted are doign to AI maew's treasure given to Big Bung in Dubai and Singapore... thoguh the democratic process ... run by the lackeys of Ai maew.

Even 2 of 5 men PDA have defected to Ai Maew ... One is the old NGO who is a friedn of Communist MD, and the head of State Enterprise Union.

Even Chamlogn felt treatened by the change of alligance .. so they have to set extra member to for 9 PDa men to couterweight against 2 defectors. .. Furthermore, their movement have to be low profile to ensure that publci opinions would NOT go against them since the current situation and puyblic support is NOT on their favor. Futhermore, the capilist who pay ofr PDA is no longer paying the cash to them ... and Sondhi Limthongkul lost his momentum ... so he began to ask Papa Prem to support him ... with cheque of 200 million Baht as a collateral ... but Papa Prem Declined and he REFUSES to allow Sondhi to use his name for his own hidden agenda.

Those Communist MD have learnt very hardway abotu how to perform political purge .... before Sondhi Limthongkul doing at Thammasart U.

Now, Ai Maew have boasted that he has cleaified the issue with His Majesty ... but he is actually hiding himself at the safe house of Precadet Class 10 ... and the Big One's Safehouse at Phutthamonthon area (near Thawee Watthana canal)

The reason for the major transfer of Pol. Gen. Seriphisut is due to the Order of the Big One ... which NOBODY could refuse.

However, AI Maew still cannot clearify himself with Papa Prem and His Majesty ... even thogu hthey are tellign a LIE to the problic to preven the further disunity within PPP.

If Ai Maew failed to clearify himself with His Majesty and Papa Prem, he would confront with Royal Wrath ... which compelled him to runaway to London until the change of regime ... or facing the Hunt of the "Red" October by the Royal Wrath ...
