To inform you:
our freinds at the BMTAhave completely revamped their website. So the stories about the lady-buses as new etc are gone. It however is now even more difficult to find a numeric list of all busroutes, and the former (in Thai only) partly-complete list of additional routes (nrs >1001-1515 or so) has been fully lost. www.bmta.co.th
When at See-Ed bookshop, i also noted that both versions of the busguide have re-issued, and they show all the new routes. By bangkokguide and by PN-maps. In Thai only, and they both come with a map, book+mapo is 50 bt.
I made a thread about the new citybuses coming into town, but strangely I cannot find it any morehere. Well, anyway, the new yellow buses are now also appearing (besides the 8,92, 539, 542) on routes 115 (silom-Minburi, but also extended to RomKlao!) and the 40 (sai Thai-Chinatown-HLpong-MBK-Sukhumvit-Ekamai-Lamsali), but not extended further.
There is a new website; www.citybus.co.th, ONLY in Thai now which has nice pictures and info. Seems the new comp's HQ are in RomKlao, as is the depot+gas filling station, this explaining why this Keha suddenly gets somuch routes. Seems to have nothing to do with the new all-white metrobus, replacing the microbus.
These new yellow buses must give the new white a run for their money: they are abouty the same design from China, have conductors, more seats (as they are longer) make the same stops and have the normal BMTA-distance fares, 12-24 bt, whereas the white buses are 30 bt, exact fare and unlike the old microbuses, do not do seat-only.
