God only knows what the first sentence of the last paragraph means!? Well, OK! Route 7 is the BKK to Chonburi motorway, and Route 9 is Bangkok's outer ringroad:

Ministry of Transport proposes holiday travel strategy
The Cabinet has approved a plan by the Ministry of Transport to ease travel for citizens during the holiday period. The plan will be in effect from December 28th until January 3rd of next year.

The plan entails the increasing of transportation from buses to planes to allow citizens a variety of options to travel by. The Railway Authority of Thailand has avowed to add 19 trains to provide more service to travelers with an expected 117,000 people to choose trains. Thai Airways has also agreed to add flights to accommodate up to 130,000 more passengers.

National highways 7 and 9 will be free to commuters from the 27th of December to the 30th. The Transport Ministry has also asked the BTS Skytrain system increase the frequency of trains as well as operating for 24 hours between the 31st of December and 1st of January.

1.I have to log in anew any time I answr in a new branch today!
2.its my simple thoughts (maybe some new minister/translator not realising copying last years might be easier....) there will be extra trains/buses/planes (=more as the original concesion allows to) on major routes out of BKK. There will still be roofriders on trains and people not finding seats in buses for 2/3 days and hence late for work coming back. as has been the case since i visit thaild, 20 years now!
