Laos, Thailand to build border market

(KPL) Laos and Thailand are planning to build a border market near the first Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge in a bid to boost trade ties between the two sides.
The Vientiane-Nongkhai border market will be built on a space of 50,766 hectares. The market is expected to be completed in 2009 when Vientiane city will mark its 450th founding anniversary.

The construction of the market was discussed in Vientiane early this week by the authorities of Laos’ Vientiane and Thailand’s Nongkhai province.

That's over 125,000 acres. Makes Chatuchak Park look somewhat insignificant! Square Meters perhaps!?

Khammouane is a rich province with natural resource such as Phou Hinboun supplying 10 million tonnes of gymnasium to cement plant per year, 1,000 ha of potassium has been already surveyed.

Somewhat befuddlingly, the same reporter managed to use the word 'gypsum' later on in the same article.
