Unusual parasites found in child’s lung

Ha Noi (VNA) – The Central Children’s Hospital discovered and removed two unusual parasites in 11-year-old Dinh Thanh Long’s lung. Earlier in the day the child had suddenly started to cough up blood.
Examining the lobe of his bronchus, doctors found an unusual opalescent, bar-shaped organism closing the gap of his bronchus’s sixth lobe, causing the lung to haemorrhage.
Paralysed by a desensitizer injection, the parasite resembled a tailed marine creature and measured 2.3cm in length and 3.4mm in width.
Another similar parasite was found two days later.-Enditem
