A few years ago, His Majesty facilitated a project at one of the local universities to preserve the Tipitaka on CD-ROMs. As I recall, it was to be done in Thai, Pali and eventually English. I have tried to find the CD at various booksellers around BKK but have not met with success. Would anyone happen to know where the CDs can be purchased? Thanks in advance.

This is not a new arrival from China, but they are sale at Amorn electronics stores at the princely sum of 35 baht. I previously saw them in Radio Shack at a much higher price. Hang it over your ear and it will allow you to do such stuff like long-distance nightdriving, drunk-driving, drugged-driving (for truck & bus drivers) and sleepless night-shifts (according to the packet.) I also have a notion that it may be the cheapest tilt-switch on the market. It bleeps in your ear if you start nodding off forward. It does work, but I notice that it doesn't work for keeling over backwards. No problem! Attach another over your left ear in the other direction and bingo! You could even attach two more on your shirt collar for sideways sleep attacks.;) Shades of Mr Bean, huh!?

And from the controversial Dhammakaya sect.

Can't help thinking that this could also provide a new use for the above device - mindful meditation without falling asleep.
