I hope Ron doesn't object to me doing this, but it is worth pointing out that he did a really good job as a political commentator on the satellite news channel on ASTV2. He has been on this channel at least a couple of times to my knowledge, most recently last week.

I have said before, but it is worth repeating here. I think that 2bangkok.com is in very capable hands and it deserves to be at the top of everyone's list of bookmarks for websites about Thailand. 2Bangkok.com is the best place to go if you want to untangle the complexities of the political scene in Thailand. Ron, good luck with all your future endeavors.

Wow, thanks so much for the kinds words. I'm always a little worried one of the Thais will hear one of my comments and say "get that stupid farang out of here." But they haven't yet...

BTW: The guy to my right is Paisal Sricharatchanya, former editor at the Bangkok Post and former Editor-in-chief of ThaiDay. He's now the Chairman of M.T. Multimedia Co. Ltd. He really knows what he's talking about...

I have to say it was really exciting to be with all the Manager people right at the moment TRT was dissolved. There quite a bit of emotion in the air...

Wow! I'm watching Ron live on ASTV now discussing 'mobs' and truethaksin.com etc..

Hi Ron, pls send by PM the phone number of the presenter, i would like to discuss the story with her and perhaps buy her a drink.

Anyway Ron, i am recording now and hope to post a clip on YouTube tomorrow.

By the way, how many times you been on ASTV?

If you act quick you may catch the tail-end.

Hmm! Forgot to take a screen capture for you. I'll try and get Ron to give us the schedule, although he seems he is likely to be next on to provide live commentary on the referendum result.

They repeat the Editorial quite often during the week. There is a schedule on their website.

Thanks Richard. It looks like it will be rebroadcast again today (Monday) 11:00-12:00 and 16:00-17:00 Bangkok time. I can't vouch that it will be the same edition, but I think it is highly likely, as the next showing (presumably a new show) won't be until next Saturday & Sunday. Not an exhaustive search thru' the schedule, however. Feel free to check it out more thoroughly:

http://www.thailandoutlook.tv/toc/toc_schedule.aspx

And the 'Live' feed by which they mean it's being broadcast 'now', but you may not actually be seeing it as it is recorded:

Last I checked Youtube wasn't working here. Well not without help anyway! ;) I'm preparing to record, but I'm not sure yet whether Youtube will be its eventual home.

I was going to record fullscreen, but the buffering started acting up with seconds to go, so I opted for the normal size screen. Here's a digital camera snap off the TV screen. Rather poor, but the batteries decided to flatten at that precise moment. Will probably replace it with a screen capture eventually. Perhaps also a Youtube link. I managed to record the whole program.

>Wow! I'm watching Ron live on ASTV now discussing 'mobs' and truethaksin.com etc..

They were impressed when I showed my SMSes from Jakrapob. :)

>By the way, how many times you been on ASTV?

I'm usually on TOC at least each month (including the 13-hour live marathon on dissolution day last May)... After we tape them I am never quite sure how soon they will air.

Unless something else exciting happens, the next one will be an analysis of the constitution referendum on August 19. It will start after the polls have closed. Polls about the outcome will be banned 2-3 days before the vote and they don't want the show to be accused of commenting on the outcome in some way.

If you see the last show (on July 25), I wanted to clarify one thing I said. I meant that "It flies in the face of common sense and history that Gen. Sonthi would get into politics, but he just might anyway for a variety of reasons, etc." I'm not sure if I said that correctly on the air...

I have to admit, i was really impressed with Ron's amount of knowledge and the way he was able to convey his thoughts without apparently showing any need to 'pause and think'. He just rattled off the stuff from the back of his head.

I was in Richard Barrow's office at the time, and just as Richard said "Hey i saw Ron again on ASTV", my wife called over "Here's the guy from 2bangkok on the TV now". Bit of a co-incidence.

I haven't got access to the channel in my gaff, but perhaps i'll sign up just to see Ron.

I think Ron, should get a job on Newsline!

Ron Morris of http://www.2bangkok.com will be a guest on ASTV 2's Thailand Outlook Channel (TOC) as part of a live two-hour wrap-up, after the 2007 Constitution Referendum closes tomorrow afternoon:

http://www.astv-tv.com/toc_broadcast.html

I'll update this post when I have the exact schedule, program title and anchor details. The current expectation is 19:00 - 21:00 Bangkok time.

ASTV 2's Thailand Outlook Channel (TOC) is currently providing Referendum Count coverage as part of their Thailand Focus program. Ron Morris (Right) of http://www.2bangkok.com has JUST begun his appearance on the show, which is expected to last about 2 hours. Also with Ron and the anchor is Paisal Sricharatchanya (Middle), former editor at the Bangkok Post and former Editor-in-chief of ThaiDay. He's now the Chairman of M.T. Multimedia Co. Ltd. I believe the lady anchor is Khun Chudaporn, with Khun Sarocha and Khun Rewadee discussing the incoming results at a separate desk. Khun Rosalyn is reporting from the EC office.

This results page from The Nation allows a breakdown by region (Bangkok, Central, North, North-East, South) and by province:

http://202.60.199.51/en/?prv=90

The final result could materialize between 21:00 and 00:00, if no untoward situations occur.

2Bangkok.com Editor Ron Morris appears on TOC/ASTV2 TONIGHT at 21:00 (Bangkok time) to talk about Thaksin's return, Samak, and the PPP government.

(Disclaimer: [http://www.angkor.com/2braa/about.shtml] Ron Morris appears regularly on TOC/ASTV2, although he insists he has no Phujatkan anti-Thaksin prejudice.
