It seems there is a whole genre of videos on rotting vegetables on YouTube. This one is dedicated to that non-event called Halloween.

Time-lapse videos created by taking photos with a Canon digital still camera and GBTimelapse.
The candle was lit on Oct 16th and the time-lapse was finally stopped on December 12th. Over the course of those 58 days, GTimelapse captured one image per hour using a Canon PowerShot G2 tethered to an old Windows 98 computer. The computer and camera were powered through a battery back-up system and ran continuously for the entire time. The only anomaly was when one of the lights used to illuminate the scene burned out. The images were combined into a video using Adobe After Effects.
