Grand Opening of New Pier at Laem Chabang Port
On Friday afternoon a grand opening ceremony was held at Laem Chabang port, around 15 kilometres outside of Pattaya, to celebrate the completion and opening of a new state-of-the-art container wharf and pier.
The new facility, set on 106 rai of land, was officially opened by Khun Chaisawat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, in conjunction with Khun Sunida, the Director of the Port Authority of Thailand.
This new section of the port can handle up to 92,000 tonnes of shipping freight and the directors hope it will go a long way to establishing Laem Chabang as one of the logistic hubs of South-East Asia.
