I note 2bangkok article says feeder bus 136 starts from Sathu Pradit. Is this correct as normal bus 136 starts from Klongtoei?

Yes, BMTA Bus No. 136 was started from Custom Dept at Klong Toei ... Now it was forced to extended to Sadhupradit to gcover thsoe who live around Rama 3 Road.

So will these be dedicated feeder Buses (similar to ex-Microbus working Skytrain Shuttles) picking up only en route to station or ordinary buses stopping to let down at all stops?

There are newly proposed feeder buses by BMTA to accommodate passenger demand of the new MRTA line. I cannot remember how many of them, but they tend to extent the travel distance to the suberbs, but reduce bus headway just to have more passengers in one trip. Whenever their routes overlap MRTA, they don't have service for the overlap section.

This is what I can say "a normal practice" of BMTA. I remembered Por Or 8 (AC Bus 8) from Pak Nam to Tarajworadit ... I think they have only Por Or 8 from Pak Nam - Onnut (BTS) and from Siam (BTS) - Taraj.

Or they may try to reduce non AC services completely and bring in only Euro II buses. I notice that Bus # 142 is no more only Euro # 142!!

Hi, Bangkok,

Can anyone reveal whether Singapore has ever exported buses to Bangkok ? When I was in Bangkok in June, i notice one public bus model and colour similar to Singapore's City Shuttle Service. The non-airconditioned buses look like the public buses Singapore and Penang used to have in the early 1980s.

So, in Bangkok, i felt i was back in Singapore from the 1980s to the 1990s.

How do the feeder buses of Bangkok Subway look like ?

I dopn't think that SIngapore exported any of their buses to BKK at all. Those who run BMTA just like Singapore Buses - thus they asked Hino, Daewoo, Mitsubishi and Benz Thonburi (Thai agency of Mecedes benz) to come up with suhc buses.

these busroutes are normal BMTA routes, which just happen to serve the stations concerned.
last week in bangSue I noted that indeed some routes have been adapted to serve that stop: the 97, 70, 65 and withdrawn already, also formerly the 50.
interestingly, nrs 9 and 125 [both are rot ruam=private joined] have been extended from their former terminus SamSen station to there. All routes use the west road along the railway, hitherto unserved by normal buses. nr 97 (a major route to Nonthaburi) also now has a few short workings only as far as bgSue, peaks only

BMTA Bus No 14 and BMTA no 50 terminate at Lumphinee Park.
However, I'm no so sure which one wil lgo to Pathip Plaza (Phetburi road).

Is there a bus directory of Bangkok ? In two round trips to Bangkok, I observe that the public buses are not that crowded as before, in the mornings. I travelled in Buses 115, 13, 74 and 15, if i remember correctly; no problems of theft. The bus conductors can understand rudimentary English. They remind me of the old SBS buses i used to travel in Singapore in the 1980s.

Where do Buses 14 and 50 go to from Suan Lum ?

Bangkok has the faces of the 1980s, 1990s and the 21st century and bears architectural marks of Thailand, India, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. I like Bangkok very much.

Yes, BMTA has the official BUS directory - mostly in Thai of course -but the site has been DOWN right now due to the holiday (I guess)

Bus 115 -> That is a bus to Minburi (Northeastern BKK Suburb wiht several Muslim communies alogn with the suburb villages aroudn there)

Bus No 13 -> Huay Kwang - Klogn Toei (Thai version of Harlem) bus

Bus No 74 -> Huay Kwang - Suthisarn - Saphan Kwai - Phetburi -Klon Toei bus

Bus No 15 -> Bang Lumphu - Pratoo Nam - Silom - Bang rak 0 Charoen Krung - Trok Chan - Thanon Tok - Bangkok Bridge -Mahai Sawan - Bang Mod (Southwestern suburb in Thoburi side of BKK - having revived orange orchards).

Bus No 14 -> Sri Yan - Ratchawat - Rama 6 Road - Victory Monument - Makkasan - Pratoo Nam - Ratchadamri - Lumphinee Park

Bus No 50 (ordinary version) -> Rama 7 Pier (in Bang Kruay, Nonthaburi - Northwestern BKk Suburb suburb) - Rama 7 Bridge - Wongsawang (part of Inner Ring Road), Tao Poon - Rama 5 Road - Samsen - Rama 6 - Victory Monument - Phyathai - Ratchathewee - Sam Yan - Surawongse -Thai Red Cross - Silom - Lumphinee Park

Singapore's bus directory is too detailed and very helpful.

Well, NO indication of bus stop ... ONLY the names of roads, intersections and significant places are the only necessary indicators of bus stops .. you better rely on your instinces
to go out of the buses whes the bus is about to reach your destination.

Well ... Bangkok Guided soul show the bus route numbers and the section they will stop in the important places like Sanam Luang, Victory Monument, and probably Mochit 2 terminal.

NO, that will be the nr 50, it has both ord (red) and AC=orange, botg go same ways in hte PEAKS they also have expressway workings, YELLOW shield, that do not pass there.
anyway, this thread now has nothing to do anymore with the original: subway feeders.
in THAI BOOkshops and some farang (try asiabooks) are very well produced busguidebooks/maps for sell at 50 bht: thay were quite recently newly published, bu bangkokguide. The map is quite good now in both showing english and that: for thos out of the way places
However: for INNERCITY use its about useless: then use the much more detailed tourist-aimed maps for sell at also 40/50 baht. these are limited to old trusted routes and only show the ''tourist zone'' and moit all of the routes above 120 or so: new since the last 12 years
