Unlike McSomTam, the rice burger on today's front page is not unique to Thailand -- it was pioneered in Taiwan and has been on sale in Singapore for a while too. McD's version, though, is predated by Japan's Mos Burger, which has been selling the things forever, and in really weird versions too (rice and grilled eel burger, anybody?).
Anyway, I tried it out in Sing, and it's actually not bad... but neither is it really a hamburger anymore.
