Ron has already started embedding video clips frontpage. I'd also like to encourage the use of linked videoclips in the forum.
I'm a bit of a late starter on this, but can see that it will be as useful to this forum as Tinypic et al have already been.

I suspect that most posters here will be more familiar with this than I am. And I imagine a high percentage of us have some kind of video capture device.

I note from my recent experiments that uploads from my rather outdated Hi8 Handycam actually work somewhat better than many of the other videos available for viewing. I guess that a lot of stuff is shot with cameraphones and the video functions on standard digital cameras.. On my rather slow hispeed internet, uploads were taking a little over a minute per MB. Viewing is also a bit of a lottery, but I note that the result is watchable (and listenable) even with many breaks. I also found that it was easier to watch the video properly on a second and third viewing. Presumably, this is because of buffering.

The video will continue loading. Divert your attention to something else. Then when the status bar reaches the right side (or at least the middle, in case of a longer video), press "play" again, and you will have no more hickups.
That sounds like a good idea.
Is there any way to download and save? I haven't found it yet. I suppose that there might be some copyright issues on that!?

This is former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra's declaration of a State Of Emergency made on September 19, 2006. The announcement was made from New York and only appeared on one TV station in Thai--the other stations already had been seized by the military. Thaksin's announcement starts in mid-sentence and is eventually is cut off when troops seized the station.

Here we are in the era of camera phones, digital cameras with video functions, webcams and unobtrusive handycams.

Reports such as the one below have prompted me into thinking that I may eventually post up some video footage of constant offenders - bus and truck companies in particular. I would encourage others to do the same, but discreetly for your own security.
Four students killed, six injured in road accident
Samut Sakhon - Four school volleyball players were killed and six other injured when a pick-up truck transporting them from a training in Trang back to their school in Bangkok hit a road guard rail early Sunday morning.
The accident happened at 6 am on the inbound Rama II Road in Samut Sakhon's Muang district.
The volleyball team of Pibul Prachasan School in Bangkok's Din Daeng district was travelling back from a training session in Trang.
Two students died at the scene and two more died on their way to a hospital. The injured student were rushed to Mahachai Hospital, Samut Sakhon Hospital and Sriwichai Hospital.
Phetthep Sriphetch, the coach of the team, told police that a ten-wheel truck overtook the team's pick-up truck and obstructed its lane, causing the pick-up truck driver to swirl the pick-up truck to the left lane.
Phetthep said the pick-up truck lost control and hit against the road guard rail and ended up crashing into a big tree.
The pick-up truck drive fled the scene.
