View Full Version : Iraq War Casualties
Something macabre, but interesting. This website was mentioned as a source on the frontpage of The Nation today:
http://www.iraqbodycount.net/
More detailed civilian deaths summary:
http://www.iraqbodycount.net/bodycount.htm
US and coalition military deaths, including the 2 Thai soldiers:
http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx and http://www.infoshout.com/the_toll.htm
Google Earth overlay of coalition casualties until 27 October 2005 (again including the two Thai soldiers, as well as other nationalities, mainly from Europe):
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Number/178100 (download the placemark)
Every fallen soldier is marked with his first name at the position of his home town (where known) or country; upon clicking, more info and a photo is shown (if available).

well, those websites certainly are cool, but do you support the iraqi war yourself? considering the casualitites that it made or that a tryant has been overthrown and the us marines are helping to restore iraq's law and order
No, I don't support it, but I think I am not inclined to discuss this issue here in depth...

I registered with a new nick-name for not influencing your choice, and to be free in your decision
--------
After three years in Iraq.
After thousands of dead and injured soldiers; and still counting.
After billions of dollars spent, not on rebuilding Iraq, but on the war itself; and still counting.
One would pause for a minute and ask oneself with complete honesty;
Shall we get out of Iraq?
Consider this as a poll and vote with sincerity;
Shall we get out of Iraq?
