Nice Link!

I picked up a Bangkok map on CD a while ago at a SE-ED Bookstore. It's called MapMagic by Thinknet and cost about 150b. I actually have two CD maps, this one and the BangkokGuide map bit I use the Thinknet one much more often. It has the same information, is zoomable, and fairly easy to read. The only disadvantage is that it's printed in Thai, not English.

I don't speak Thai very well, but I have memorized enough of the Thai alphabet to be able to read street names. It's made a huge difference. If you can read a little Thai, there's a lot of info out there that isn't available otherwise. It's hard work, but I'd recommend it.

Sadly Bangkok Bob's map looks like a pre-1995 edition of Nelles Map of Bangkok - certainly missing Narathiwatratchanakarin Road is a bit of a give-a-way!

yes that's the one I have as well! Actually I find the map quite user friendly. you can mark the place of interest on the map, as well it tells you all the bus routes there are in BKK

Agree with otherstuff1957 - once I learnt to read roadsigns and maps I found it much easier to tell my driver (and Bangkok's navigationally inspired taxi-drivers) not only where I wanted to go but how I wanted to get there!

Still seems to annoy Taxis though when I tell them both my destination and the route that they will take!
