Even though 60 years have passed since the end of WW2, it's amazing how the history books are still being written

The latest is the release next week of the book "Saving Australia - Curtin's Secret Peace with Japan"
Curtin was Australia's Prime Minister from October 1941 to 1945

The central figures are Curtin and Tatsuo Kawai, the Japanese Ambassador to Australia. Australia was concerned "after Japan’s invasion of Indo-China and threatening action towards Thailand and the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) in mid-1941". Even Colonel Masanobu Tsuji gets a mention.
