Anyone know anything about this event?

Is it still being organised annually? Don't think so, at least I didn't hear about it. Or maybe I missed something?

As is often the case when surfing the net, from a totally unrelated thing I came across a reference leading to this photopage (http://www.ibiblio.org/davidf/running/Bangkok_Marathon_2000/index.html). (The second page has a course map, by the way.)

Another BTW: At first glance I thought this (http://www.ibiblio.org/davidf/running/Bangkok_Marathon_2000/slides/bangkok2000-19.html) is Saphan Phut. But no, it's Krungthon Bridge (as apparent from the route). Nice pic.

Thanks. So they have an official site (http://www.bkkmarathon.com), and it seems to take place every year in November.

The latest course map (http://www.bkkmarathon.com/www_eng/course.asp) is a nifty flash animation (with wrong spellings en masse, though) and shows that they now use the Rama VIII Bridge.

Must be one of the more strenuous marathons, given the heat and humidity...... also, I cannot imagine it's particularly healthy to breathe in the Bangkok air.... :(
