The Enforcer!

This is a very old ploy ... In the 1980's UK TV series 'Yes, Prime Minister' they used the cover of "sacking 48 soviet embassy staff for spying"!

Thai humor: Turning off the PM's radio show to save energy - June 3, 2005

Poojadkuan jokes: Bangkok - All Thai people should work together to save energy by turning off the radio for 45 minutes at 8am every Saturday. Mr. Rakchat [the name means love nation in Thai], a grocer, said if turning off the electricity for 5 minutes will save energy, then we will save more energy by turning off the radio at 8 o’clock every Saturday for 45 minutes to save more. That is the time for for “Thaksin Talks to the People" program. Everyone who listens to him will get stress because he will offer excuses for all problems.

Oh my dear.....! Most of the Poojadkuan columns are good, but this one is really great. :p :p :p

Sure gives you some hope regarding the state of the Thai press.....

Yes this one is a great one!

Given the govts control of the TV media, sensitivity to difficult questions by the media and intolerance by the Paramount Leader to critical analysis of govt policies, then perhaps everyone should turn off the TV everytime there is an interview of a govt minister/spokesperson.

After all they never really seem to say anything of substance and thus no one would be missing anything!

Hilarious. I just love the image (http://pics.manager.co.th/Images/548000018321401.JPEG) with the head of the farang guy photoshopped onto Thaksin's body wielding the infamous Japanese toy sign (maybe call this device the "journalist chastiser"?), also altered to show a number 1, in front of the Thai press audience.

One of the best poojadkuan (http://www.manager.co.th/Pjkkuan/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=9490000011020) jokes. (Enjoy the site before it gets banned.)

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

In true style fashion, it is also a play on words: phu khao ngoen (the silver mountain, but ngoen also meaning "money") is higher than phu khao thong (the golden mountain).

:( :(

It is a joke that most Thais will cry when reading it. I do not know how 19 voters for our dear leader are doing now.

Banging their heads to the wall??

It proves correct again as Dr. Teerayuth said before about Thai ethical standard. And it shows.
