I'm not so big on things texan but the Uni of Texas, Perry-Castaenda Map (http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/) Library, has a very good online collection. (There's lots of Iraq (http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/iraq.html#iraq_sites.html) maps if that's your interest)

There's a fairly good collection of Tsunami disaster maps and sat images, http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/tsunami_2004.html. Click on the CRISP (http://www.crisp.nus.edu.sg/tsunami/tsunami.html) (Nat. Uni of Singapore) site and take the Khao Lak, Thailand 'View Flythrough'.

Some old CIA maps of Thailand on the site (http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/thailand.html) but ok for simple political/admin maps.

Thank you to Khun Yappofloyd for linking us to CRISP's tsunami Data. I suggest you go their home page. From there you can hit 'Cool Images' or 'Catalogue' where you can register instantly and look for images closer to your own interests.

* Image Sources in the catalogue. Very easy to use, considering their is a great deal of technical detail. Everything appears to be saveable.

Admittedly, I'm more than a bit of a cartographic dilettante 'wannabe/neverwas'. This is the sort of conference I would have been attending if I'd had the commonsense to follow my original instinct into either cartography or townplanning. On parental advice, I ended up in an even more no-hoper career. Now, it's too late! Arggh!

Looking for all the world more like a Constellation Map than a Rail Map. Note that this only includes Javanese 'Kereta Api Indonesia' Lines. Doubtless there are still a few industrial lines:-

But then take a look at this historic map:-

The website itself has some interesting stuff on Indo Railways, with a lot of good links:-
