I'm tempted to stay a night just for the free 'one night in Pyongyang' sound of the place... :D
And they're not kidding! I know one person who was asked to leave for having too much of an attitude. At the time, I wasn't too surprised given that person's extreme hedonism.
I think I would probably fit the Atlanta's bill of a suitable customer. However, this article would definitely put me off going there. I'm all in favour of polite & respectful behaviour, but I have found that there are plenty of other cheaper & more cheerful places in Bangkok that are capable of bringing out the best in their customers.
I once stayed in Bangkok's Christian Guesthouse on Soi Convent. A nice 'Old World' atmosphere with a beautiful garden. I wouldn't stay there again. Sometimes, pious folk can be extremely condescending. When my sister & brother-in-law (staying at the nearby Montien) came over to our room at 11AM to help us vacate, the manager seemed to arrive at the false conclusion that we were harboring unpaid guests. BCG is not the cheapest place by any stretch of the imagination. Having observed all the rules, I was annoyed by his 'holier than thou' look.; especially since he had obviously made no effort to ascertain the truth.
Here's a website for Bangkok Christian. Unfortunately, it looks like they have demolished the old building. What a shame!:-
