View Full Version : Need help from local Myanmar
Dear all,
Anyone from who is acquainted with the transport available around Myanmar? I'm from Malaysia, intending to travel via all kinds of land transport right up to Mae Sot, cross the bridge to Myawadi.
And from Myawadi, I wish to go to Inn-daing (in Yangon) but at a lost. Can someone please give me detailed guidance?
Sadhu,
Ajeyya

Last I checked it's not possible to cross over from Thailand to Rangoon by land, because there are a million little insurgencies and/or drug lords battling the army in the middle. You can cross the border, but you can't go very far inland.

Anyway, I'd suggest that Tales of Asia (http://www.talesofasia.com) might be a better place to ask this sort of thing...
:( now that's not very good news... hopefully they will be fine again by december... i really wish to go there.
sad me, i didn't like to fly because i tend to vomit. but i really wish to go there.
if that be it, is there anyway that i can get cheap airline tickets from bangkok to yangon? i'm not good at finding cheap air tickets, can help me with the cheapest possible?

As Ganyc has pointed out in the other thread (please don't post multiple times), there are no cheap tickets to Yangon. Few people want to go there and the junta has no interest in promoting anything except themselves.
