Define spicy. The fish sauce Thais call nam plaa is nuoc mam in Vietnam...

Funnily enough, Tim Page's book 'Derailed in Uncle Ho's Victory Garden' mentioned the Fish sauce called 'Nuoc Nam'. But it appears that it should be 'Nuoc Mam'
Sorry I am unable to define how 'spicy'; although I agree that fermented fish sauce alone is not really spicy without the addition of bird-turd chillis.
